Wings Over Whiteside is set to launch July 22-23, 2022 at the Whiteside County Airport in Rock Falls, Illinois! The fun starts on Friday when the public can come to the airport and watch the performers arriving and also practicing for the airshow. There will be a couple of food vendors there from 12noon to 5pm on Friday. Admission and parking are free on Friday.
Saturday is the big day starting with a 2K Fun Run down a runway at 8am. You can register at www.724Fitnessontherock.com or register that morning between 7-7:30am. The EAA Young Eagles will be giving free airplane rides to children ages 8-17 (register at: https://fb.me/e/2A52jJncc) between 8:30am and 12:30pm.
The Airshow will be from 2-4pm and features top named aerobatic performers including: Patty Wagstaff, Full Throttle Formation Team, Trojan Phlyers, Eric Edgren, RJ Gritter, Betsy Biscuit Bomber, and the P-51D Mustang and FG-1D Corsair from the Warbird Heritage Foundation.
To end the day, there will be live music with the 30 West Band playing from 4:30-7:30pm. Food truck and food vendors will be available all day from 11am-7pm on Saturday. On Saturday only, parking is $5.00 and gate admission is $10.00 (ages 10 and under free). Bring the family! You don’t want to miss this exciting day of aviation!
