The Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Committee is hosting the 37th annual Steak Fry in the Country on Thursday, August 4 at 5:30pm. The Steak Fry will be held at Ted Jacobs Farm in Rock Falls. This annual event, sponsored by the SVACC, allows the Agri-Business community to gather and celebrate Ag in the Sauk Valley while raising money for Ag related scholarships.
As part of the evening, 2022.23 Scholarship recipients will be acknowledged and introduced: Delana Erbsen, Calin Gaulrapp, Kaydence Coulthard, Connor Sandrock, Paul Sturtevant, Matthew Megli, Wyatt Wessel, Lane Near, and Thomas Dauphin. In addition, the now famous dessert auction will continue to feature desserts made by Agri-Business Committee members.
The Steak Fry in the Country is an opportunity for SVACC members, agri-businesses, farmers, and others to come together to raise money for scholarships, discuss agricultural issues and enjoy an evening of networking over a steak dinner.
Money raised from the Steak Fry helps provide future ag scholarships, as well as funds donated to support other Ag related education programs such as Ag in the Classroom and Whiteside County 4H Program.
This event is open to the public. Tickets are $25.00 and are available at the Sauk Valley Area Chamber office located at 211 Locust Street in Sterling, from a member of the Chamber’s agri-business committee, or may be purchased online at www.saukvalleyareachamber.com/events .
