On Sunday, May 15th, the Illinois State Police (ISP) was called to assist the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office with a single-vehicle crash with injuries on US Route 52 at Center Drive.
The preliminary investigation revealed Jared Dickman, 22, of Lanark, was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry westbound on US Route 52 east of Center Drive at approximately 10:14 p.m., when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the south ditch, and overturned. Dickman was ejected from the vehicle suffering serious injuries and was air lifted to Mercy Health Center in Rockford.
Dickman was charged with improper lane usage and failure to wear seat belt and issued a Notice to Appear. The ISP was assisted on scene by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Carroll Police Department, Lanark Police Department, Lanark Fire Department, and Shannon Fire Department.
The public is reminded that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
