Illinois State Police District 1 Commander Dyan Talbot has announced enforcement figures and activity for July.
Illinois State Police District 1 Troopers issued 411 citations, 527 written warnings, and made 17 criminal arrests during the month of July. Troopers issued 248 citations for speeding, 13 citations for distracted driving violations, and 18 citations for seat belt violations. There were 23 arrests for no valid driver’s license or driving while license suspended/revoked.
Troopers investigated 8 traffic crashes, assisted 81 motorists, and conducted 73 commercial motor vehicle inspections, 14 of which were placed out-of-service for safety reasons. There were 8 arrests for driving under the influence.
District 1, which encompasses Carroll, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside counties, investigated no fatal traffic crashes in July.
