On Thursday, September 29th, the Dixon Fire and Dixon Police Departments were dispatched to 410 Madison Avenue for a house fire. Upon arrival, Dixon Police Officers met with a male outside of the residence.
The Dixon City Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire and establish that no one else was home at the time of the fire. Upon further investigation, it was determined that John K. Sandusky, age 42 of Dixon, was responsible for starting the fire.
A warrant was obtained for Sandusky and he was taken into custody on Monday, October 3rd, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sandusky is charged with Residential Arson, which is a Class 1 Felony, and Arson, which is a Class 2 Felony. Sandusky’s bond was set at $150,000 – 10% to apply. Sandusky was processed and transported to the Lee County Jail.
All charges are merely an allegation and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
